Public DepositedMonday, January 15, 1940 Had two men shovel this morning to get our driveway cleared. I left the automobile at home. I took theRocket for Chicago at 10:24 with Ed Bopf had a long talk withFred Allenwho hadjust been very unkindlyforced out(out) the Moline State Bank where he had beenpresident for a number of years. At Chicago I bought a G.E. lightmeter at the Eastman Kodakstore. Met Charley Wiman who with Wharton + Kennedy were leaving on New England States for Boston. RogerGreene was on same train and I asked him to look up [Wiman -- hope he did. Ed Bopf, Herman Marshall+ I left at 3:30 on the PennsylvaniaGeneral for Harrisburg. Had a long talk with Herman about Grass Silage and our plans. He agreed it was wise to do and said when Tuft planned to see theUniversity men he thought it would be well to have one of his men go along. [Passerger's check:Chicago to Harrisburg]
