Image 218 of Theo Brown Diaries, 1938
Public DepositedWednesday, June 8, 1938 Bornstein and I reached Detroit at 745 had breakfast at the Brook Cadillac Hotel where I caught a glimpse of Chas. f. Kettering. We were met and taken to the Olite Plant of the Chrysler Corp where Andy Langhammer is manager. It was very evident that he did not want to show us much of his plant. We were not in the plant much more that five minutes and then were shown flower gardens, asked to go on his yacht and taken to the Chrysler plant to see the "Super finisher" lapping machines. Dave Wallace was away so did not see him. Oilite now uses powdered iron in some of their bearings and in some used graphite They also furnish oilite in sheets. They were so secretive we were not very favorably impressed So we left on the 1232 train and I got home on the "Rocket" at 830
