Tuesday, February 3, 1931 Clear At a meeting all day with McCormick, Paradise & Harold White. held to consider in a preliminary way what a new general purpose tractor should be. We finaly considered 20" to 42" rows should be centered by tread of tractor and after carefuly considering from all angles think a wide tread type of tractor is best as it will take all row widths with possible exception of 24". Tests will be made to decide stability of wide tread type having 48" tread. It looks as thought live axle & 48" wheels would be best for every place except the south where bedded rows are and here we will need more clearance. 30HP. with a lay out of both 2 & 4 cylinder motors. integral power lift etc. We are going to follow competitors outfits carefully in the field this season.
