THURSDAY SEPT. 29 1949 Dr Vernmuellen extracted a broken tooth this afternoon. He is an expert and did hurt me. [Postage stamp: Republique Franciase] Letter from Bill Paris Sept 28 Hotel St Thomas D'Acquin Rue Pré aux cleres Paris VII "Nice to find your letter here after I got back from London. - I got back about a week ago and have been working in my room since very happily. I find it as good a place to work as any other including that enormous studio -- I plan to stay in Paris a while yet whil the work is going well before the trip to Italy. It's strange weather here now, some days warm & humid like summer, others cold and rainly and dreary like they say Paris is all winter. I spend my day usually by going to school in the morning drawing from the models there, coming back at lunch and working in my room durring the afternoon. Am always out during the evening. There isn't a great deal of news here. With the devaluation of the Franc pound our exchange in Francs is better again, making living a bit cheaper."
