[Letter: Bill, Monday Apr.25,1938] woman, Madame Polk, age 81, who knows many of the best musicians such as Stokowski. There are 2 lovely Steinway grands in the living room. We talked with M Polk for a while then she retired and the 3 of us had a most elaborate tea in the dinning room (served by a Butler of which there seemed to be several). Eugene is the nicest person imaginable, never conceited, alert, very clever, but always kind and polite.
