Tuesday, January 14, 1913 Signed application for patent on double apron spreader today: Had long letter from Bliss giving claims allowed on allowed on application for axle above apron which would seem to anticipate the hump. Had the ball thrust bearing taken out of "A" spreader at Deere Farm which had soft steel washers The washers were worn fully as much as on the State Farm. This beater was made made with spiralbars in hopes that end pressure might overcome. This seems to prove that the spiral has no advantage in respect to end thrust. Built 106 spreaders today Bed 8.30
