56 WEDNESDAY, Feb. 25, 1920 Dodgeroadster 3 years old today Mileage 14915- We made an interesting test on the new #40 plow. One frame weight 138 lbs with beams drawn from rear brace all way foward and the beams and rear brace heat treated [Drawing: heat treated area] to here. Pressing the two foot ends of the beams together 1900 lbs was exerted with no preciable affect. On the other frame weighing 158 lbs Thedraw of the beams was only in the front portion of beam this accounts for the difference in weight. These beams were heat treated simply ahead of the rear brace and in the test at 1700lbs the beams had set 21/2". It clearly shows what heat treatment will do.
