Mrs Young, Mrr [Herm?] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr Wm Kountz called us on the phone this evening and said after the tests he found that the lack of thyroid was partly responsible for Elise's condition also a deficiency in the ovarian extract. There is a lack of vitamins C & D, which can be made up. The digestive dificulties he feels, are mostly responsible for for Elises condition as to low metabolism which is minus 18. Tests show low acid in digestive tracts which made it difficult to assimilate fatty foods. Dr Kountz advised a rather strict diet cutting out eggs, butter, pork, cream, pastry, fried cooking and keeping cereal, milk, butter milk, toast fruit juice and fruit if chewed throughly is alright. Mayonnaise if made with mineral oil. He is to send some pills which will help the thyroid deficiency. I do pray it will help dear Elise.
