Friday Dec. 23 1949 Elise and I went to the Smorgesbord and Christmas Party at the Town Club I resigned from the Davenport Club as the dues were raised to $100 a year. I only used the Davenport Club about 4 or 5 times this year. The Town Club dues are raised to $100 and I didn't feel justified in belonging to both. The dues have been raised because slot machines are out at least for the time being Med David Withington of Honolulu Charley Wiman's friend sho has started in at the John Deere [Haric?] Works.
