At "Friends of Art" opening at Davenport Art Museum Bill L W Ramsay wasawarded 2nd prize of $1500 for a still life in oil. The "Times" had the following to say. "On William Brown's still life, Dr Lester Longman head of the plastic and graphic arts of the State University of Iowa who judged the pictures said "The picture has liveability. The artist did well what he tried to do, - the painting is not disturbing at all, it reveals warmth within personality. As a matter of fact this is a very sensitive work showing the influence of Cezanne and modern French Art."
