Monday, December 7, 1936 Clear 120 Below this morning. Reached Horicon at 9 and Theodore Erdmann took me to Mrs Schaeffers house. Mrd Schaeffer said she did so very much appreciate my coming andthat she knew John would have appreciated it too. The service was at the church (Catholic) andvery long in all 1 hr & 40 min. Had quite a talk with Fred Clausen suffesting a good experimental man be sent up who would have authority for Theodore Erdmann is 67 years old and cant last long and some one should come in wholater could take charge, Clausen seems to favor a young man but I question whether he could survive Theodore appreciated my coming and I was glad to. Left Watertown at 240 and reached Moline at 10.
