Friday, July 11, 1941 Clear [Headlines:Boston Herald;World news] Elise Bill and I walked down to our spring house and then over the boulders and rocks around our land it was thrilling, equal to the white mountain trails We saw a plant we thought was a ladies slipper [Drawing: Ladies slipper] Bill went to Gardner where he had an appointment to be examined by the Draft Board doctor. Seemingly Bill is in fine condition. It was thought he would not be called before August. In late afternoon Elise and I drove to Ashburnham by back roads. The country roads are very attractive.
