Saturday, May 23, 1931 Clear It is 2 yrs today since I signed the contract to come with Deere & Co! Harold White & I drove to Bradley to see a demonstration of the new Bradley General Purpose tractor. We left in Harold's Franklin at 9 and reached Kankakee 169 miles in 3 hrs 20 minutes We met J. C. [Bohnlar ?], Stanbough, Krouse, Tibbett, Nelson, General Westervelt, Sims, and several others. Also Ex Govenor Smith. Almost 1500 present. To put on the planter required 12 minutes and 7 men were on the job. To spread the wheels it appeared to take most of the effort of 3 men. Borth cultivator & planter are of horse drawn construction. It was very interesting talking to these Sears Roebuck men as some of them are Vice Presidents.
