Public DepositedSATURDAY FEB. 14 1948 Bill Cade & I took the two new steel Cabinets up to the attic this mornng. They will make wonderful storage space in our attic revision. Another taller case came in the knock down which I hope to erect tomorrow. Rufus Roys here for lunch. Blackhawk hike in afternoon to Warren Creek. I took Carl Waldman. The Conrads went too. Later a movie with Elise "Captain Castile" ("Captain from Castile" ?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ will be to work more for the improvement of understanding for other nations among my countrymen especially among the younger folks. We were spending the Christmas holidays very happy, because we had our five children around us. The two elder boys which are at college in Stuttgart and Darmstadt as I wrote you in my letter of Dec 8, had gotten an Interzonian passport, which allowed them to travel from the U.S.A. Zone to Leipzig. We did not care for politics during Christmas and it was only allowed to switch on the radio for good music, but not for political speeches. We were all in good health. This winter has been very mild up to now (over)
