Thursday, January 9, 1941 Clear CONGRESS JOLTED BY BUDGET Appeared in this evenings Moline Daily Dispatch A PROMISE KEPT John Deere came to Moline in 1847; it wasn't so bad for John Deere; it wasn't so bad for Moline. Moline had some bank dificulties a few years back and Deere & Co posted on the door of one particular distressed a notice that they stood behind the bank. Then came a presenditial bank moratorium over which Deere & Co had no control. The bank was closed and a new bank organized to give the peopleat Moline banking facilities. Today there is in the mail checks to all depositors to pay them in full - 100% of their deposits. The job required time, for legal issues were involved, but through cooperation of the receiver it twas accomplished, and as quickly as possible. THANKS, DEERE & CO. Your word was good. You did a splendid Job You kept the Faith. (This advertisement was paid for by a Grateful Depositor having no connection directly or indirectly with either Deere & Co or the receiver) Elise plans to go to St Louis next Wednesday night and meet me in Chicago next evening, and then we go east Friday afternon.
