Public DepositedMONDAY MAY 17 1948 Went to office altho rather shaky. Lee Bill & Mrs Cade came at2 from E. Lansing, picked up Brother on their way to Dubuque. Bill had been at Wright Field for 2 weeks JohnVanderPyl called in evening ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He asked Shaw after the Saturday rehersal if he was satisfied, and continually referred to Shaw as the "maestro". He obviously has a high regard for him. Wanda at the rehearsals - they (the Horowitzes) have bought a new Picaso. As exciting as Monday night was Wednesday. Mrs Hindewith took me to the Ballet Society - a world premier of a new Stavinsky ballet, Orpheus, which Stravinsky conducted. Mrs Hindewith and I found ourselves sitting next to Mrs Stravinsky, theyare old friends. The ballet was wonderful, wish you could see it. On Wednesday I also had lunch at Mary Callerys, then we went to the 57th St shows afterwards Much love, Bill
