At Hooperston Canning Co met Mr Winters the soil expert.He went over the cultivator ( ?? ) with me They plant 38" rows but he says 40" is coming in. [Drawing: ??] 4" cut off this end 2"[?] this end----52"------- They like the cultivator but the tractor has not stood up. It is what they want so they must do road work too, and the Farmall type does not lend itself to that. They would buy more rows but are afraid of their weaving out. Winters said a Fordson pulled more than our G.P. He said our K C needs more balance. [Sketch: bolt not good] Saw new Allis-Chalmers G.P.tractor with two row cultivator. 42" open typerear wheels 70" tread. 66" high front The cultivator is called and rightly so "QuickDetachables" It is easy to attach and detach by driving into etc. The tractor appears to be the regular with chain housings added to widen & raise tractor. power lift built into side of tractor littlle lift. parallel lift Shanks house [?] strength. View excellent. Think it must infringe [Bergman ?] Left at 11 and drove 225 miles home via Bloomington & LaSalle reaching here 508P.M.
