Bill's friend Bob Caldwell came to Worcester today with the 181st Infantry from Camp Edwards. 3500 men in all. They will be herer till Sunday afternoon. Elise, Bill, & I went to the farm after supper seeing mother Kate &Kitty. Bill got Bob Caldwell and he went with us to a small dance. At the Tatnuck Country Club given by Marjorie for the out of town guests for Isabel's wedding. [Drawing: Huckleberry] Margret Shaw whose husband Col [N ? Bukerane??] West Point Col. Bukerane was there too said Bill should try if possible to get into and officers training course. It will take about 6 months training before a draftee can become eligible for such a course The Col suggested the Field Artillery or Ordnance [Headlines: Evening Gazette; Draft]
