Public DepositedFRIDAY APRIL 23 1948 Charley Stone told me this afternoon that he was in Dubuque yesterday. The preliminary costs of the 101 tractor have been figured and show a $85°° saving over the cost of the M or about 15%. He said this saving was more than he had expected for he thought it should not be over $50°°. The plan now is to make a survey for the demand for this tractor and to come to a definite decision by October. It is impossible to do much now as the M MC & MT must have priority. Also some work will be done on a small M to compare costs. We are going to develop the best and least expensive implements possible for I have great faith in the 101. We will get the best plow, mower, cultivator & vegetable cultivator possible. Lee Bill Pooh & Theo arrived at 530 for the week end. Bill said Nordenson told him that work on the 101 was to be laid aside for the present. I cant understand not at least doing some designing even if actual construction has to wait. The Bopfs asked the four of us for dinner tonight. The 3 Altgelts there too. Herman has made Elise a special sprinkler head.
