Public DepositedSaturday, August 2, 1941 Clear [Headlines:Boston Herald; World news] Elise and I took Bill to Gardner this morning where he and two other draftees left for the Army Induction Center in Boston at 730. It was awfully hard to have him go. [Newspaper clipping:Induction notice, William Brown,Princeton] I took a walk with Alex Bullock in morning. I like to be with him. Isabel Bakers marriage to William Carlton took place at 9 this afternoon at the Bakers. Many many of my old friends were there. Rose Dresser, George Stobbs, Clifford Kinderman, All the Higginses. Sawyers, Morses, Masons and many many more. Isabel was lovely. Faith was maid of honor. I took a roll of colored movies which I hope will come out well. Reception at Tatnuck Country Club Bill called on the phone just before we returned at 730. Mrs Dexter said he told her we could see him between 2 and 3 tomorrow afternoon at Camp Devens. He is in company "D"- He said it seemed a long day. Elise and I are relieved that he called and will be so anxious to see him tomorrow. [Headlines: Evening Gazette; War news]
