Saturday, December 24, 1938 At noon went to the Golf Club where about 45 defferent men were quests of French and Hecht for lunch and a Tom & Jerry. Christmas Eve was at our house. 15 there including Herb. Elises mother is in a state of mind to cast gloom. She cant take it to let the house go. Elise had a wonderful supper and a beautiful tree. She isso generous and from her family gets little in return except from Eda. I gave Elise a pair of glasses that can be used as opera glasses. I got therecords of Pinafore.
