278 SUNDAY October 5 Cloudy Spent morning working on design for Christmas Card. Mother Koehler and Mary Iles here for dinner. In late afternoon went to the Cables for tea and stayed forsupper. Later we picked O. F. Zimmerman up at hotel later in evening and he came home with us for a while ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ talking and the little lamb was sacrificed and a rug made for Betsey out of its fleece. You do not know how nice it was to see you this summer and I am sorry your visit was so short. I regret to see that there is no chance for you to take a cottage at the shore the coming summer, but cant you manage to come down and see us long enough to go off on a cruise with us for three or four days: provided that business conditions have leftme anything to run a boat next season Withlove to you both and very many thanks for the book.
