Público DepositedThe past few decades have witnessed an exponential growth of robots and automation, reaching nearly every aspect of our society. As the world increasingly embraces new technologies, the use of autonomous robots has expanded to include a wide range of applications, from household chores and manufacturing to rescue operations and inspection. A core component of robotics development is the ability for these autonomous systems to perceive and navigate in a variety of environments. This ability, commonly referred to as Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), has become a key component in the continued functionality and expansion of robotics.
